Wow, it’s been a while! Sitting in a meeting that is basically telling me what I’ve already done in creating a WordPress blog site… but it’s good to review. Also to remember that I already have a website I could be working on… sometime… when I am not doing a million projects. Or between…

I’ve recently discovered MineCraft… Which is amazing and disastrous for architecture students: amazing in exploring creative potential, disastrous in that hours go by like minutes…

This site needs some optimizing though. I think I’ll be moving the blog over to the blog section and reconfiguring the front page. Always good to put your best face forward! See you after the update!

Five minutes spent pondering a strange dream, stopping an alarm, and sending up a prayer for the new day. 20 minute shower, 10 minute morning prep before heading to get breakfast and a 10 minute walk to studio. 5 minutes too long in prep. Pick up the pace! Hurry to breakfast. Eat in studio, work on Project 4… Construction class begins. Switch gears to building frame project. Check the time. Run to Leadership class. Journal is missing. Claim a new zero for journal check. Write reflectively. Class is over, finish later. Get to chapel. It’s in another building! Hurry and get a seat! Swipe in. Fight through the crowd. Listen sleepily at the guest speaker. Somewhat interested towards the end. It’s over. Fight the crowd, get swiped out, run across campus to studio. Wish I could visit with a friend on the way. Send her an encouraging text. Arrive at studio. Project 4 isn’t gonna finish itself! Due 2:00. 30 minutes left. 10 minutes left. 4 minutes left. Professors come in, then leave oddly. Oh well, keep workin! 30 after. Getting worried, but finished. Announcement that professors are busy a little longer. Work more anyway! Can’t hurt to make it look better! Pin up time. No critique? Oh… Professor miscommunication means we all went ahead of ourselves and have to start over. Hours of lecture on what to do. Get back to work! No motivation. Energy drained. Class over. Get dinner. Pick up things at studio and walk home to Burman. Worship soon? Talk to Assistant Dean. Not until 7:30, so study for test tomorrow! Get with Cassie to start meeting. No one shows and speaker is late. Interesting and awkward activity for 3. Go back to studying and prepping laptop for reboot (Windows… groan). Studying and loading drivers. Milkshakes in lobby? Okay! Take one to buddy upstairs; he could probably use it. Back to work! Interrupted with a room checkout and checkin. Back to PC! Drivers not loading properly! Catch up with roommate. It’s past 10, go upstairs and wind down. Finish loading last things to external hard-drive. Write about day? Sounds like a commotion in the hallway! Back up other RA settling the issue. Go back to write some more. Drivers still loading. Find lost journal accidentally at 11:30 pm. Midnight. Files finally done loading: reboot ready. Get called downstairs to check on yesterday’s night check. Night scanner errors… Again… Verify names. North Korea story? Hmmm… Back to PC! So tired… Reboot time! Get back upstairs. Set reboot. 12:16… I should be sleeping… It’s my day off…

Alright… I’m realizing that the eJournal has been more of a Site Journal lately. Completely unintentional I assure you. Some of the entries were added to see what posts would look like on the page while implementing site changes, but that’s pretty mundane for a journal, or much of anything really.

So LIFE… Recently I began a class entitled “Seventh Day Adventist History & Prophetic Heritage.” So far I’ve only acquired 3 of the 8 books of required reading for the class, but the first few chapters of “Light Bearers: A History of the Seventh Day Adventist Church” have really got me thinking… The world in which Adventism began was not altogether dissimilar to ours, but people then seemed more earnest to follow the dictates of their own consciences and pursue the truth more than profit or entertainment.

The site changes I’ve been making lately began with the desire to recreate myself according to my ideals. But the progress has been slow, and I haven’t exactly been constant. Today I decided to test an idea: activate a Media Control function for my life. That may sound kind of silly, but if you think about it most of us don’t monitor what we allow to enter our minds on a moment by moment basis. I have found myself watching more online shows or playing emulated video games at strange hours and for no reason… even when I was bored with it! SO I’ve decided to STOP going to all of my usual entertainment avenues (web comics, subbed anime, cool movies, Youtube, etc) and only pursue useful media and creative activity.

Let’s see how that goes for me!

Lots of unseen updates lately. I’ve been attempting to find a way to create separate blog pages with their own layouts with posts of one category. Unfortunately I haven’t really had any luck doing this… I feel like I’m missing something important. I’ve scoured WordPress’ Pages site to find code and helpful info, but trying what I found there proved fruitless. Did some more searches with category pages and found some possibly useful plugins, and these have yet to prove their worth… what am I doing wrong?? Confused and going in circles with applying and undoing edits. Frankly, I’m getting tired of it.

I like the old design… but it doesn’t seem to fit anymore. Not exciting enough, not nearly complex enough for my tastes. So I’m in the middle of redesign. Likely not a complete redesign, but enough to surpass my last design.
